25 in ’25: January Wins

4 New IP Products

In my plan to release 25 new Intellectual Property (IP) products in 2025, January was a win. Keep in mind that each book could become several different IP releases. In other words, one product might be in print, ebook, audiobook, full-cast audiobook, German translation. I get to set my own rules here, and part of my goals for 2025 is to expand how many formats each story might become.

That may seem like a rather loose rule, but re-releasing ebooks or updating and releasing books I published years ago don’t count as “new” IP projects unless I put it in a different format.

#1 – Walk in Darkness, ebook format, 1 Jan 2025 — a new short story from the Witch in Time series

Knowledge is power—if it doesn’t destroy you first.

To be fair, I wrote this story in late December, mostly while I was watching Baby Nugget from midnight to dawn to give his mom some rest. So I guess that’s another tweak to my rules–that it’s the release date that counts, not the finish date.

During this month and my Nugget-watching, I worked on edits and revisions for manuscripts I finished right before I sold my house and moved, and it’s time to pull them out of storage and finish them.

This expanded and modernized edition offers a fresh look at communicating beyond the veil.

#2 – How to Speak to the Dead, ebook format, 17 Jan 2025 — an expanded public domain fav of mine that I published in 2007 and have now expanded it considerably.

When I published it in 2007, I added my own commentary as original material. This time, I expanded it extensively and published both the original text from the early 1900’s as well as a more accessible and modernized version.

Maeve, a time-traveling witch, has spent her life caught in the web of prophecy and cosmic forces, torn between protecting the ones she loves and safeguarding humanity’s future.

#3 – A Witch in Time Supernatural Thriller Duology, boxed set, ebook format, 18 Jan 2025 — Both Answered Prophecy and Turn of Earth from 2024 in one collection.

Since these two novellas were bookends of Maeve’s life, I decided to offer them under one cover.

Besides, I really adore my cover designer, and her covers always inspire me.

Betrayal, magick, and transformation—a Southern witch’s path to self-discovery is anything but ordinary.

#4 – Rites of Passage Southern Gothic Trilogy,  27 Jan 2025, boxed set, ebook format.

This is a rebrand of my PWF trilogy because PWF got overrun with shifters and audience expectations changed.

Also, as I’ve discovered recently, books 2 & 3 are heavily Southern gothic and book 1 is more American gothic but with a Southern main character. Truly, I didn’t realize that I often write Southern gothic, but if you know my background, that does make a lot of sense.

As for new IP, this is also a boxed set and includes Rite of Awakening (previously Midlife Illusions), Rite of Letting Go (previously Midlife Mirage), and Rite of Reckoning (previously Midlife Visions).
